Deep England

2007

Deep England uses an empty swinging treehouse in Wisconsin and a synagogue that has become a church in Wolverhampton as a metaphor to reflect upon the complex justifications and contradictions that is engendered by negotiating one’s relationship to place. Drawing from Jonas Mekas’ key film Lost, Lost, Lost, the film also references Ingrid Pollard, Shakespeare and Zygmunt Bauman as a strategy of Diasporic orientation..
