Maid in Korea

A site-specific video installation piece, conceived initially for the Korean Ambassadors residence in London. The camera focuses on the trace of a maid’s movement behind a door (she is not allowed to be visible to official guests and visitors) juxtaposed with an Official’s presence in the space. The work questions hierarchies, through the visibility and invisibility of different users of this official household. This piece is to be projected at approx 1 ft wide.
